General FAQs
How do I use the Search Engine Box on the homepage and what does it do?
The search engine box on the homepage of traveleye.com allows you to quickly access travel information and services on more than 1500 travel destinations worldwide. To use this box, simply type the name of a destination followed by the country (eg London, England). If you wish to search for just a country, then type the country name on its own (eg England). However, an easier way to use the box is to type just the first couple of letters of the destination you want to search, and the ajax menu will display a list of matching destinations that you can scroll down to.

I have a holiday rental property and would like information on advertising it!
Property owners can privately advertise their property for rental on the traveleye.com website. A basic listing is FREE and there are no commissions taken for bookings. A rental property advertiser is in charge of managing their own bookings and responding to interested individuals. To create a 'listing/rental advert' you firstly need to register for a 'My Travel Eye' page (process mentioned in 'My Travel Eye' FAQs section below). Presuming you clicked 'Yes' to the rental advertiser question on the registration page, you will see a house icon in your 'My Travel Eye' homepage. Clicking this house icon will take you to the 'Advertiser Homepage' and allow you to begin building your rental advert. Once your advert is built you can 'Place Order' for the listing to go live (if you have chosen additional features beyond the basic listing, you may have a small fee to pay). Upon your order being placed, your advert will be checked and made live. It will then be viewable in the appropriate section of the website. You can make adjustments to your live listing/advert from inside your advertiser account (accessed from your 'My Travel Eye' page.

The times are not correct!
The times are almost certainly correct; however, what you may be seeing are times displayed in a timezone different from the one you are in. If this is the case, you should change your 'My Travel Eye' page setting for the timezone to match your particular area, e.g. London, Paris, New York, Sydney, etc. Please note that changing the timezone, like most settings, can only be done by registered users. So if you are not registered, this is a good time to do so, if you pardon the pun!
I changed the timezone and the time is still wrong!
If you are sure you have set the timezone correctly and the time is still different, the most likely answer is daylight savings time (or summer time as it is known in the UK and other places). The board is not designed to handle the changeovers between standard and daylight time so during summer months the time may be an hour different from the real local time.

I registered in the past but cannot log in anymore!
The most likely reasons for this are: you entered an incorrect username or password (check the email you were sent when you first registered) or the administrator has deleted your account for some reason. If it is the latter then something must have happened in your account that caused this response. Please email traveleye from the Contact Us link on the homepage to enquire further.

The small image you are referring to is a 'rank'. This symbolises your loyalty and contributions to the traveleye community. Ranks are improved by writing travel reviews and uploading travel photos to the public galleries.
I have received a spamming or abusive email from someone on traveleye!
We are sorry to hear that. The email form feature of this board includes safeguards to try to track users who send such posts. You should email traveleye using the Contact Us link on the homepoage of the website (www.traveleye.com), with a full copy of the email you received and it is very important that this includes the headers (header list details of the user that sent the email). We can then take action.

What are Administrators?
Administrators are people assigned the highest level of control over the entire traveleye community. These people can control all facets of the traveleye community operation which include setting permissions, banning users, creating usergroups or moderators, etc. They also have full moderator capabilities in all the sections of the website. They have the power to edit or delete posts and lock, unlock, move, delete and split sections in the areas they moderate. Generally moderators are there to prevent people going off-topic or posting abusive or offensive material. Back to top
What are Usergroups?
Usergroups are a way in which board administrators can group users. Each user can belong to several groups (this differs from most other websites) and each group can be assigned individual access rights. This makes it easy for administrators to set up several users as moderators of a forum, or to give them access to a private forum, etc.
How do I join a Usergroup?
To join a usergroup click the usergroup link on the page header (dependent on template design) and you can then view all usergroups. Not all groups are open access -- some are closed and some may even have hidden memberships. If the board is open then you can request to join it by clicking the appropriate button. The user group moderator will need to approve your request; they may ask why you want to join the group. Please do not pester a group moderator if they turn your request down -- they will have their reasons.
How do I become a Usergroup Moderator?
Usergroups are initially created by the board administrator who also assigns a board moderator. If you are interested in creating a usergroup then your first point of contact should be the administrator, so try dropping them a private message.
