Yorkshire is big and it's beautiful. It reaches into no less than three National Parks - the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and the Peak District, also Yorkshire is among one of the largest counties in England and is divided into four parts - North, South, East and West Yorkshire. It also includes the majestic moorland of Bronte Country and the tranquil beauty of the Howardian Hills and the Yorkshire Wolds. The spectacular coastline is among the finest in Britain, much of it protected as Heritage Coast.

In Yorkshire you can shop in one of Europe's largest malls, sample northern ale straight from the brewery, tuck into Yorkshire pudding and the world's most famous fish and chips or take to the hills on Britain's toughest long-distance footpath. You can go down a real coal mine, 'Sail' to the Arctic with the fishing fleet, or ride a time car back to the world of the Vikings. Read the television news in the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television. Nosedive down the world's largest roller coaster. Enjoy the world's biggest annual fair.

The city of York, famed for its historic Roman Walls and its charming medieval streets is also home to the famous 'York Minster Cathedral', a fine example of medieval architecture dating back to the Roman Era which boasts one of the finest collections of stained glass in existence.

The Yorkshire Dales is famed its outstanding beauty, with a large part being designated as one of England and Wales' protected national parks. Local attractions include 'Bolton Castle', a magnificent medieval fortress built in 1399 by Richard le Scrope. 'North Yorkshire Moors Railway', a preserved steam railway running 18 miles through the picturesque North Yorkshire Moors.
