Turunc is a small resort closely situated to Icemeler and Marmaris. It is accessible by road via Marmaris / Icemeler or by the co-operative water taxi service to/from Marmaris. It is situated in a small bay, surrounded by rising mountains whose pine-clad slopes meet the calm waters of the Aegean.

Turunc is well placed to explore the surrounding area. This can be done in a variety of ways - depending how adventurous you are - dolmus (local bus service)is one way - and can be flagged down at any time, local boat co-operative operate services to Icemeler, Marmaris, Amos Bay & Kumbuluk. Car hire is easily available within Turunc for those who wish to explore further a field.

The season runs from late April through to October, with many of the services being provided by local and transient traders.  It is a charming, tranquil place - loved by many tourists who return each year - and envied by those who are staying in larger nearby resorts!

This area is suitable for couples of all ages and lone travellers of more mature years.

There are some small, simple hotels with a tendency towards B&Bs. One large mass-tourism property and a couple of medium-sized middlemarket establishments of no great distinction. The limited supply of apartments covers the full range, from plain and humble to smart and comfortable.

There is a gently curving bay. The beach progresses from pebbles and boulders at one end, through shingle to coarse sand at the other end. The majority is a mixture of sand and shingle with a moderately shelving sea bed. The central section is packed with loungers and sunshades.

On the SW coast of Turkey, directly on the Mediterranean Sea lie Turunc, 13 mls S of Marmaris; 88 mls SE of Bodrum. 79 mls W of Dalaman airport. It is located at the centre of a sheltered, rounded bay at the edge of a limited agricultural plateau that quickly turns into steep rocky mountains covered in pine trees and scrub. Accessed via a bumpy, twisting, narrow mountain road.

There is a wide selection of retailers, from supermarkets and the usual tourist shops with fake designer T-shirts and beach gear to leather shops and attractive souvenirs. Jewellers in abundance.

In the daytime many spend it lounging by the pool or on the beach. There is water sports from pedalloes to parasailing and jet-skiing. There is a brilliant scuba-diving school offering basic training but limited scope for experienced divers.

Scuba Diving - Diving along the coast of Turunc is promised to be the most beautiful experience ever. The warm and clear turquoise waters deliver the ideal location to dive for certified divers and beginners. Be prepared to be blown away by the riches of the unspoilt beauty.

Boat trips - All you need to do is go to the harbour and pick a boat. There are many different boat trips available to various destinations. There is nothing more rewarding as sailing along the coastline through the crystal clear turquoise coloured waters.

Waterskiing - If you are an outdoors loving person you will enjoy nothing more than waterskiing along the Turquoise coast. Also available for entertainment is windsurfing, parasailing and dingy-hiring.

At "night" bars play relatively loud music well into the night, but do finish in time to allow some sleep. Those seeking to party through to dawn have to head for Marmaris.

There is an impressive selection for such a small resort, with restaurants and bars offering everything from traditional Turkish dishes to a full British breakfast. There is even a Chinese restaurant.
